Online Collaboration Software Set To Revolutionise The Property Transfer Process

By admin, 31 stycznia, 2013, No Comment

Buying a property is something that most consumers will only go through a few times in their lives. As a result, would-be homeowners have come to grudgingly accept the arduous nature of the property transfer process, taking comfort in the fact that it needn’t be undertaken regularly.

For years, this lengthy and admin-intensive process has come to be seen by many as a necessary evil, with a dearth of available options meaning that consumers have simply had to accept the long waiting times and reams of paperwork associated with it.

Yet a new breed of customer is slowly beginning to emerge, one that knows their rights and expects better service delivery. The rise of connectivity in South Africa has also led to the growth of a more informed and expectant audience, one that is no longer as willing to accept the status quo.

With a view to addressing a lack of customer-centric processes in the property industry, Korbitec, a leader in property software development for the past 35 years, recently launched GhostConvey 2012. This comprehensive conveyancing package, trusted by 80% of the South African Attorney market, now includes online collaboration tools that have been designed to streamline the property transfer process, mitigating the need for excess paperwork, and reducing lengthy waiting times.

This revolutionary new package allows the various role players involved in the property transfer process to interact and share information easily, using the online-based platform both to reduce hassle and to improve turnaround times.

“We believe that the take-up of GhostConvey 2012 marks a vital first step in creating more efficient systems and processes within the industry,” explains Dawie Verryne, CEO of Korbitec. “With approximately 16 different stakeholders involved in the execution of a single property transfer, all of whom are scattered across various industries and professions, the logistics and timings involved have created a real headache for consumers in the past. This software has been designed to bring these various stakeholders together, allowing for easier collaboration and heightened efficiency.”

GhostConvey 2012 has been designed so as to easily integrate with existing systems, reducing the need for additional training and expense. As a result, all parties to a specific transaction, including estate agents, attorneys and banks, can now easily access a secure central database via their existing frameworks, and stay updated on the progress of a transfer.

Whilst this will help to ease the administrative hassle for the various stakeholders involved, the ultimate benefit will be derived by the customer, who will be able to enjoy increased transparency and feedback, as well as greatly expedited service.

“The electronic processes involved in GhostConvey 2012 will be of huge benefit to the customer, and we expect turnaround times, currently in the region of 80 days, to be reduced by approximately 25%,” says Verryne. “Buyers can also now enjoy increased transparency, and will be able to login to check on the status of their transfer at any time, establishing how and where any bottlenecks might have emerged.”

The GhostConvey 2012 system, which relies on electronic security controls, has also been designed to minimise the risk of fraudulent transactions, which sometimes take place as a result of recaptured paperwork.

Thus far, the system has already been rolled out to over 2 500 of the country’s top conveyancing firms, with numerous others set to follow suit.

“Every month we are coming closer to a fully paperless, electronic conveyancing system,” says Verryne. “With a number of other technology providers now looking into providing similar products, it is up to the country’s top service providers to adopt such a form of technology, or risk being left behind.”

By admin, 31 stycznia, 2013, No Comment

Rectron strength and expertise in the digital signage environment makes it a top choice service provider

IT manufacturer, Samsung South Africa, and IT product distributor, Rectron, have signed an agreement whereby Rectron will be a distributor of Samsung’s Large Format Displays (LFDs) in South Africa. This forms part of Rectron’s continued efforts, coupled with its strengths and expertise in the field of Digital Signage, to bring the latest technology to its customers.

“The addition of this unique and specified product line to our product portfolio will enable us to address a new type of Digital Signage Reseller. It will also offer our existing and loyal reseller partners an opportunity to address new vertical markets and create new revenue streams,” says Sebastian Isaac, LFD Expert at Rectron.

“Our willingness to share our knowledge about the digital signage industry with our customers is one way of how we are looking at adding value to our channel,“ says Isaac.

Says Mike van Lier, Business leader for IT Solutions at Samsung South Africa: “This is not the first collaboration and partnership with Rectron – the company already distributes a number of our monitors – but certainly it is a very exciting one. We believe that Rectron hold the same values of quality delivery and technology innovation as Samsung and believe that this partnership will continue to foster a culture of superior product dissemination for the local business and technology markets.”

What differentiates Rectron from other companies in this space is that we are not just supplying the screens, but are able to provide the complete solution. This includes: Content Management and Distribution Software, Network Infrastructure and connectivity, Media Players and Server Solutions as well as Screens and Display devices.

Rectron has a broad distribution network across the country and prides itself if delivering excellent value, service and product to this base. It is for this reason that Samsung chose to appoint Rectron as a distributor for LFD products locally,” Izaac concludes.

Conducted successful trial with Nokia Siemens Networks’ radio and core network plus voice call system

Vodacom Tanzania recently conducted a 4G (LTE - long term evolution) trial in Dar Es Salaam using Nokia Siemens Networks’ Single RAN (radio access network) and Liquid Core* technology. In addition, the trial used Nokia Siemens Networks’ Circuit Switched FallBack (CSFB)** voice call system enabling LTE mobile phones to fallback to GSM and 3G networks for voice calls. With this successful trial, Vodacom Tanzania is now in a perfect position to launch super fast 4G mobile broadband services in Tanzania.

“Vodacom is committed to bringing world-class LTE technology to Tanzania. This will contribute to the development of the country’s information and communications technology (ICT) industry and provide ultra-fast data services on par with leading LTE services around the world,” said Rene Meza, managing director, Vodacom Tanzania. “We selected Nokia Siemens Networks because of its proven capability in refarming 1800 MHz spectrum for LTE. Its advanced radio and core platforms made the trial possible, and the excellent results convinced us that we can roll out a reliable and high-quality LTE network.”

“Our advanced Flexi Multiradio Base Station was a natural choice for this trial as it is capable of seamlessly supporting multiple technologies on a single platform,” said Pete Beadle, head of Vodacom customer team at Nokia Siemens Networks. “Our radio and core platforms used in the trial provided extremely reliable network connections for faster throughput that improves customer experience. With our Single RAN multi-technology platform, Vodacom can prepare its network for a smooth launch of LTE services and protect its investments today and tomorrow.”

Nokia Siemens Networks provided its Single RAN platform based on its award-winning, compact and energy-efficient Flexi Multiradio Base Station. The company also provided its Evolved Packet Core (EPC) platform, including Flexi NS (network server), Flexi NG (network gateway) and Liquid Core based SGSN (serving GPRS support node). In addition to providing its Mobile Softswitching (MSS) that manages traditional voice calls, Nokia Siemens Networks provided its CSFB voice call system. This system enables LTE smartphones to fallback to GSM and 3G networks so that users can enjoy voice calls alongside text messaging (SMS) and ultra-fast data services. The company also used its NetAct network management system to enable consolidated monitoring, management, and operation of Vodacom Tanzania’s trial network.
